Wandering Wednesday - The SteerIn, An Eastside Treasure

Just off of 10th and Emerson on the Eastside of Indianapolis is a scrumptious treasure - Indy's Historic STEER-IN!

Ashley and I both adore this Indy diner. Both our extended families have great memories growing up eating at the STEER-IN (previously Laughner's Steer-In back in the 1960s).

My Aunt and Uncle lived just around the corner, my brothers and sisters went to Scecina High School just down the road and the STEER-IN was an often a gathering spot for delicious food and family time together. Now a friend of both our families owns this Indy hot spot - The Kehrer Family, and so many of the menu items that everyone has fallen in love with over the years are still just as delicious as they were in the 60s! From the tenderloin to the homemade coleslaw and cream pies, there are so many delicious options at the STEER-IN!

The food is so amazing that in 2011 Food Network's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" took note and visited to tape at Indy's famous STEER-IN! Just this past year, they were named Nuvo's #1 Best Tenderloin in Indy!

We couldn't agree more and think the STEER-IN is a perfect Wandering Wednesday destination! Get out, peeps and enjoy some of the best food in Indy!
